WODSOG-2007 Call for Papers
The 2nd International Workshop on Dependability in Service-oriented Grids is to be held in Beijing, China, and is co-hosted with the IEEE SRDS-2007 conference. WODSOG-2007 seeks to provide a forum for members of the dependability, Web Services and Grid communities to come together to discuss issues faced in creating dependable service-oriented applications, and potential solutions and methods for dealing with these issues. There will also be a panel discussion on future dependability research in Service-oriented Computing and Pervasive Computing.
Scope
In recent years, service-oriented computing (SOC) has emerged as an increasingly popular method of dealing with both the increased complexity of modern computing systems and also the increasing need to integrate such systems with other existing systems. This popularity has been further enhanced by the maturing set of service-oriented middleware developed by both the Web Services and Grid Computing communities, as well as the development of many service-oriented specifications.
As increasing numbers of service-oriented systems are constructed and used in business, commerce, and science, it is vital that new methods for increasing system dependability are found for this domain.
The Workshop On Dependability in Service-Oriented Grids aims to bring together researchers and practitioners in the areas of dependability, Grid computing and Web Services for discussion on new ideas, techniques, and implementations for dependability in the service-oriented paradigm.
We welcome original research papers as well as papers that deal with design, development and experimental results of dependable service-oriented systems.
Topics of Interest
The major areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
• Fault and intrusion-tolerant architectures, middleware and operational models for SOC
• Vulnerabilities, attacks and countermeasures in service-oriented systems
• Service-oriented monitoring and evaluation techniques
• Formal representation and verification of dependable properties in SOC
• Quality of service provision in SOC
• Service-level agreements in SOC
• Models, metrics, and measurements in SOC
• Dependability evaluation in SOC
• Dependable composition of Web Service
• dependability in Service Transaction
• Dependability in Web Service architecture
• dependability, and security issues in grid and P2P computing
• dependability in Pervasive Computing
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be written in English using at least 11-point size and may not exceed 5 single-spaced pages in length. Each paper should include a cover page, the title, the authors and their affiliations, the contact author and his/her email address, an abstract and a list of keywords.
Papers should be submitted electronically, in PDF format, to All submissions will be reviewed by the Program Committee. It is required that at least one author of an accepted contribution will attend the workshop in order to present the work..
All papers selected for this workshop are peer-reviewed and will be published as a separate proceedings.
Keynote Speaker
The workshop will invite distinguished scholars and officers from international organizations to give keynotes speeches for intensive knowledge of this field.
